2014 NEW TRANSFER THIAGO SILVA TO BARCELONA

Report: Barcelona Reach Agreement With Thiago Silva

Diario Sport reports today that FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with long-term target, and Paris Saint-Germain centre-half Thiago Silva. Tito Vilanova identified Silva as his number one priority ever since the signing of Neymar in May, and with the Brazilian captain reportedly agreeing to provisional contract that would run for five years, on a similar salary to that of Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta, Barcelona are now said to be ready to negotiate a transfer fee with PSG.

Naturally, this is just the first step in this potential transfer, and Barcelona still face the mammoth task of convincing Paris Saint-Germain to part ways with their captain, but with the backing of the player, it appears as though the power has now shifted to Catalunya. After all, PSG were adamant that want-away coach Carlo Ancelotti would remain at the club, only to relent and allow him to move to Real Madrid; and it’s a similar situation here. Of course they do not want to lose their captain, but if Silva has truly set his sights on a move to the Camp Nou, there’s not an awful lot they can do to change his mind.

While Silva would be forced to take a pay-cut to join the Blaugrana, Sport claim that the Brazilian would be compensated with performance-related bonuses and as mentioned previously, with a longer deal that would tie him to the club until 2018.

In lieu of this report, expect to see some definitive movement one way or the other in the next few days.

LEO MESSI WANTS THIAGO SILVA AT BARCELONA

The Argentine soccer player appears to have spoken to his father about his meeting with thiago Silva, insisting that he would very much like to play in the same team with the Brazilian,
thiago Silva, presently involved in the Confederations Cup with his country, has greatly impressed Lionel Messi during their last quarter final matches of the Champions league, where PSG and Barcelona battled out access to the semifinals.
Barcelona are in the market for a center-back, and Silva is believed to be their top target, after Manchester City defender, Vincent Kompany, announced that he would be staying with the club this upcoming season.
The defender was very close to Barcelona last summer, but signed for Paris Saint-Germain instead.
However, it appears that Barcelona is no back in the chase for the Brazilian, especially after reports that suggest how Silva seems to be particularly upset about Carlo Ancelotti's departure from the club.
